The winery is located in the “Casa Do Sol” Pazo, built in the XV th. Century, and situated within the Valle de la Ulloa subarea at the Rías Baixas D.O.; owned by Castedo Earls. It is one of the rare wineries of La Coruña province with this Designation of Origin.
80 % of the vineyard is in the Valle del Ulla and 20% are unique vineyards of Salnés , North and Central respectively border Designation of Origin Rias Baixas . With sandy loam soils on a granite base.
The climate in the valley of Ulla is somewhat cooler than coastal areas , limiting production, lengthens the maturation process and increases its complexity , without losing a distant memory to sea , adding minerality and granting own identity.
Salnés vines mature a little earlier and help us time to bring something more fat and complexity to our wines.
Like the Albariño of yesteryears, clean, pale yellow with a steely edging denoting
youth. In the nose has notes of lime, citrus and apricot, fresh peach background.
Feelings of almond blossoms. Memories of the sea, with slight iodized notes
reminiscent of brine. The palate has a soft entry but with marked minerality,
returning the citrus fruits, grapefruit, lime with persistence of white stone fruits.
